Iran executes separatist leader
Iran announced that it executed this morning Habib Ferecullah Cab, the leader of the Nidal separatist movement operating in the country.
According to the story published in the Mizan News Agency, affiliated with the judiciary, Cab was sentenced to death on charges of “being connected to foreign intelligence services and doing mischief in the world.” In the news, it was reported that more than 450 Iranian citizens were injured or lost their lives as a result of the “acts of terror and blood” by the group led by Cab.
The director of Public Relations of the Supreme Court, Emir Hashemi, announced on March 12 that Cab’s death sentence had been confirmed in a post on his Twitter account.
Furthermore, at the hearing held in March, members of the organization Muin Hanferi, Habib Deris, Adnan Gabişavi and Salim Mousavi were sentenced to death for allegedly carrying out an armed action with Movement executives Nidal Ali Müceddem and Muhammed Rıza Mukaddem due to their armed attacks against security forces in 2018-2019.
It was noted that the appeal against the decision was open.
NEST MOVEMENT
Haraketü’n-Nidal al-Arabiyye Li Tahrir’l-Ahvaz (Arab Struggle Movement for the Liberation of Ahvaz), which was founded in 1999 to demand autonomy for the Arab-dominated province of Khuzestan in Iran, announced his name at 2005 Ahvaz events.
Known as Nidal, the organization owns an Arabic-language television channel called “Ahvazuna.”
The Nidal Movement was claimed to be the organization that attacked the military parade as part of the Iran-Iraq war commemoration activities in the city of Ahvaz on September 22, 2018. 25 people were killed and 60 injured in the attack .
The organization’s leader, Habib Ferecullah Cab, was captured by Iranian forces in 2020 and sentenced to death as part of the lawsuit filed against him. (AA)
