Russian and Ukrainian officials clashed in Ankara

The fistfight between Russia and Ukraine was caught on camera at the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) Parliamentary Assembly summit in Ankara.

An unknown person tried to escape, taking the Ukrainian flag from the hand of the Ukrainian official Oleksandir Marikovsky. Thereupon, Marikovsky, who was following the man, hit the man who did not return the flag.

Marikovski managed to retrieve the flag by screaming and beating the man.

In the fight, which was reflected on the cameras, the parties were separated with great difficulty by security teams and other diplomats. Marikovsky shared the message “Hands off our flag and Ukraine you Russian bastards” on social media after the event.

The fight between the two also caused a great impact on social networks.

During the speech of the deputy head of the Russian delegation, Olga Timofeeva, at the summit, there was an attempt to protest with the flag of the Ukrainian delegation. While the Ukrainians who unfurled the flag tried to march on the Russian delegation, the Russians also unfurled the Russian flag.
