Russian airstrike in Ukraine
The Russian military carried out intensive missile and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) attacks on the cities of Dnipro, Uman and Ukrainka, including the Ukrainian capital Kiev, in the morning.
The head of the Kiev City Military Administration, Sergey Popko, said in a statement on his social media account that the Russian military carried out an airstrike on the capital Kiev. Stating that defense systems in kyiv’s airspace destroyed 11 Russian cruise missiles, Popko claimed that 2 UAVs were also shot down.
Popko noted that there were no deaths or injuries in the attacks.
10 PEOPLE DIE IN UMAN
In a statement on his social media account, Ukraine’s Interior Minister Igor Klimenko claimed that Russia launched missile strikes against the cities of Dnipro, Uman and Ukrainka in the morning. Noting that the missiles hit apartments in Uman, Klimenko said that “10 people, including children, lost their lives in the attacks and 9 people were hospitalized.” he used the phrase.
According to local news sources, 3 days of “mourning” were declared for those who lost their lives in missile attacks in Uman, all entertainment events were cancelled.
Stating that 2 people were injured in the attacks on Ukrainka, Klimenko stated that search and rescue teams are continuing their work at the site.
Ukrainian Chief of Staff Valeriy Zaluzhny also stated on his social media account that the Russians attacked with Tu-95 planes from the Caspian Sea around 04:00 in the morning.
Noting that the anti-aircraft missile units of the Ukrainian Air Force destroyed 21 of the 23 Russian cruise missiles, Zaluzhny shared the information that 2 Russian UAVs were also shot down. (AA)
