Bild: Ukraine sent a drone loaded with explosives to Russia to kill Putin
It has been claimed that Ukraine, which has been under Russian occupation for 14 months, took steps to kill Russian President Vladimir Putin.
According to the German newspaper Bild, based on Ukrainian sources, Ukraine sent an explosives-laden UAV to Russia last week to assassinate Putin. According to the plan, the UJ-22 UAV was tasked with targeting Putin, who was visiting an industrial facility near Moscow.
It was claimed that the plan to kill the Russian leader with the Kamikaze UAV was planned step by step by Ukrainian intelligence. However, Ukraine’s covert assassination plot ended when the drone crashed a few kilometers before it could reach the Rudnevo facility that Putin was visiting.
Photos of the downed UAV were also shared on social media.
Yuri Romanenko, an activist close to Ukrainian intelligence, said: “Last week our intelligence units learned that Putin was going to visit a facility and our kamikaze UAV took off. “We are getting closer and closer to Putin,” he said. Romanenko said the explosives-laden drone managed to get close to Putin without being caught by the Russian air defense system.
In an interview with famed director Oliver Stone in 2017, Putin claimed that he had survived many assassination attempts and was personally concerned for his own safety.
