At 80, Biden was already the oldest US president in the country. Biden announced in his election video that his duty is to protect American democracy. In the video, Biden is seen sharing footage of the January 6, 2021 raid on Congress by supporters of former US President Donald Trump.
“When I said I would run for president four years ago, I said we are at war for the soul of America and the war continues. This is not the time to be indifferent. That’s why I’m running again. Come on, let’s get this over with. I know we can do it,” he said.
