Horrible ‘hunger cult’ in Kenya: Dozens of bodies found
In Kenya, a horrifying discovery has been made in the investigation of cult leader Paul Makenzie Nthenge, who deceived his followers with the promise that they would go to heaven if they starved to death.
According to the news reported by the Turkish BBC, the police announced that the bodies of 47 members of the sect were found near the coastal city of Malindi. Many children are among those whose bodies were found in the Shakahola Forest.
Kenyan Home Minister Kithure Kindiki called the deaths a “massacre”. The entrance and exit to the forest of 800 decares was prohibited, which was declared a “scene of the crime”. As excavations in the forest continue, officials fear the death toll will rise.

Among the victims of the sect are many children.
They were found when they were about to die of starvation.
15 members of the International Church of Good News were rescued in the forest last week and it was announced that they were starving.
Church leader Makenzie Nthenge was arrested on April 15 after the bodies of 4 people suspected of starving them to death were found. Makenzie Nthenge is said to have told her followers that they had to starve to “know Jesus.”
Nthenge, who has denied the allegations, said he closed the church in 2019. It has not been announced when Nthenge, whose application for bail has been rejected, will appear before a judge.
