Russia: NATO continues in its line of incorporating Ukraine
Kremlin spokesman Dmitriy Peskov asserted that NATO is continuing its line of incorporating Ukraine, saying: “We are facing an aggressive alliance that sees our country as an enemy and tries to undermine the security of our country.”
Peskov made remarks to journalists in the capital Moscow on current affairs. Assessing NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg’s statement that Ukraine would support NATO membership, Peskov said NATO continues to show its aggressive nature.
Peskov said: “NATO continues its line of incorporating Ukraine and drawing it into an alliance. This proves once again that the decision of the president (Vladimir Putin) to launch a special military operation (Ukraine) in line with the interests of the Russian Federation and the need to guarantee its security was correct. “We are up against an aggressive alliance that sees our country as an enemy and tries to undermine our country’s security,” he said.
Mentioning the Western sanctions against Russia, Peskov noted that these sanctions would harm the world economy, saying: “This can only lead to increased trends towards a global economic crisis.”
Dmitriy Peskov emphasized that they continue to develop despite the sanctions and that they create long-term plans taking into account the dangers. (AA)
