Ukraine: Russia attacked kyiv after 25 days

In Ukraine, the head of the Kiev City Military Administration, Sergey Popko, reported that the Russian military carried out another airstrike on the capital Kiev after a 25-day hiatus. Popko, in a statement on his social media account, claimed that the Russians attacked kyiv at night with unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

Noting that after 25 days in kyiv, Russia suffered another air attack, Popko said: “The enemy’s tactic has not changed. “When it got dark, the terrorist country launched UAVs in the north,” he said. Popko claimed that Russia used UAVs of Iranian origin, which it had just received, in the attacks, noting that a total of 8 UAVs were detected and shot down.

Expressing that there was no loss of life or destruction in the attacks, Popko thanked the Ukrainian air defense forces for saving the lives of people and civilian infrastructure.

On the other hand, in the statement made on the social media account of the General Staff of Ukraine, it was reported that the Russian army carried out 23 air strikes on Ukraine in the last day. Noting that the Russians used nearly 10 Shahed-136 kamikaze UAVs in their night attacks, 8 of them were reportedly shot down.

In the statement, it was noted that the Russian forces fired 49 shots from anti-tank systems aimed at the positions and settlements of the Ukrainian troops. The statement indicated that there were deaths and injuries among civilians, and that civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged. (AA)
