Shocking development in the war: Russian plane bombed Russia

An explosion was reported to have occurred as a result of ammunition falling from a Russian Su-34 fighter jet in the center of the city of Belgorod, near the border with Ukraine, in southern Russia.

The governor of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, made the first statement about the explosion in the center of the city. Stating that as a result of the explosion, a large pit with a radius of 20 meters was produced at an intersection in the city center, Gladkov said that some buildings and parked vehicles were damaged.

Gladkov reported that 2 people were injured in the explosion.

Immediately after Governor Gladkov’s statement, the Russian Defense Ministry made a statement about the explosion. In the statement, the information was shared: “Aviation munitions fell in an unusual manner during the flight of the Su-34 aircraft of the Air and Space Forces over the city of Belgorod on April 20, 2023, at 10:15 p.m. Moscow”.

The statement said there was damage to residences and no loss of life in the incident, and that the joint investigation into the matter is continuing.

Taking to social media about the incident, video from a security camera showed that the sound of the plane was heard in the center of the city and the explosion occurred a short time later. (AA)
