Germany is blinded by money: They demanded 4500 euros from the victims of the earthquake

In Germany, the government decided to “visa earthquake victims in Turkey quickly and with less red tape”, but in many regions not a single visa has yet been issued.

In Ludwigshafen, Gaziantep’s sister city, a deposit of 4,500 euros (approximately TL 95,000) was requested to be able to issue an “earthquake visa” to 75-year-old Döne Alabaş. Even a preliminary invitation for a visa could not be issued for about 2.5 months from Germany, which made an easy visa declaration.

Murat Alabaş, one of the biggest names in Ludwigshafen and Mannheim, cannot bring his mother, Döndü Alabaş to him.

MONEY FOR HUMANITY…

The deposit request began when Murat Alabaş, president of the Malatya People’s Federation living in Ludwigshafen and a member of the Municipal Council of the Iyi Malatya Yeşilyurt Party, wanted to bring his mother, whose house was destroyed by the earthquake.

Alabaş, who knew everyone in the municipality, even met with Rhineland-Palatinate State Premier Malu Dryer, to whom the city is affiliated, and established good relations on behalf of the Turkish community, wrote to the office of foreigners 15 days after the earthquake. to bring his mother.

ALL POLICIES INSTALLED

The letter dated February 22, 2023 was not even answered. Kohlrabi sent a reminder letter again in mid-March and relayed the situation to the mayor.

Members of the Municipal Council of Turkish origin intervened. Then, on March 28, Mr. R. from the Lutwigshafen Immigration Office sent a reply and said: “You said that your mother will stay for three months. You have to deposit a deposit of 1500 euros (kaution) per month. She will also pay the cost of the transaction,” he wrote.

Murat Alabaş, who did not understand the lack of response and the difficulties caused even though he had a 200-square-meter house in Germany, forwarded the matter to the State Prime Minister’s Office. This time, the process stopped and the Head of the Immigration Department said: “You have complained about us. Nobody can do anything, ”he replied.

“POST MONEY FIRST…”

The Municipality and the Prime Minister’s Office sent a letter to Murat Alabaş, who has lived in Germany for 20 years and has not received any kind of social assistance, and said: “Your income seems less than 490 euros for the invitation card. That’s why you have to make a deposit.”

Kohlrabi also agreed to make a deposit, but this time he was required to fill out dozens of pages of forms. Although two and a half months have passed since the earthquake, Grandma Döndü, whose house was destroyed, was unable to come to Germany with her son.
