Penalty for old Russian woman who called Zelensky ‘handsome’
It was claimed that a 70-year-old woman in Russia was fined in court for calling Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky a “handsome young man”.
A Moscow-based human rights organization reported that a woman named Olga Slegina was fined 40,000 rubles (9,500 TL) during the five-minute hearing in Moscow just because she said Zelenskiy was handsome.
“I think he has a good sense of humor,” the elderly woman said at a health center last December, to another woman who called Zelensky “crazy”. He is a handsome young man” and he was detained by the report of those who heard him. Slegina was found guilty in the trial in which she was accused of “praising Zelensky and disrespecting the reputation of the Russian army.”
Explaining that she had to sign a piece of paper that she could not read, the woman said that she was shocked by the incident and could not understand what was happening.
With the law adopted in Russia after the occupation of Ukraine, it is expected that those who disrespect the Russian army will be sentenced to prison and fines. Thousands of people were detained during Russian-organized anti-war demonstrations.
