Lavrov meets Maduro on tour of Latin America
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, who visited Venezuela as part of his tour of Latin America, was received by President Nicolás Maduro.
The meeting, in which the delegations of the two countries were present, took place at the Miraflores Presidential Palace, sponsored by Maduro. Sharing the images of his meeting with Lavrov on his Twitter account, Maduro said: “We had a pleasant meeting with the Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation, Sergey Lavrov, who strengthened our bilateral relations and the map of joint cooperation in various fields to the development of our countries. .”
Maduro had indicated in the program entitled “Más con Maduro” the day before that they would discuss cooperation issues between Russia and Venezuela, and that Russia’s presence in Latin America and the Caribbean would benefit the region.
At the beginning of his visit to Venezuela, Lavrov met with his counterpart Yvan Gil and Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodríguez. In a statement from the Russian Foreign Ministry, it was announced that Lavrov will make an official visit to Brazil, Venezuela, Nicaragua and Cuba from April 17 to 21.
