‘Uninvited baby’ alarm at the White House

A little boy in the US has become the smallest trespasser ever to enter the presidential building by becoming trapped in the metal fences surrounding the White House.

The baby, who appeared to be between 2 and 3 years old, broke through the chain-link fences surrounding the White House, alarming Secret Service agents responsible for security at the presidential building.

Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said agents encountered a “curious visiting child” who had recently entered the White House grounds along the north fence. After the White House security systems were activated, the baby was taken away by security guards and access to the grounds was briefly restricted. The officers released the boy after a while, asking his family a few questions.

Following a series of security breaches in recent years, the height of the White House fence has doubled, raising it to nearly 12 feet. There is a gap of about 13 centimeters between the new posts. (AA)
