Germany supplies Patriot anti-aircraft system to Ukraine

06:00 | Germany has supplied Ukraine with a Patriot defense system, reports a German government website that catalogs Berlin’s arms shipments to Ukraine.

Ukrainian military personnel have already received training on how the system works from German and American instructors. This happened at a location in a NATO member state where joint exercises were also held. Last month, another 65 Ukrainian servicemen underwent similar training in the United States.

The Patriot mobile system, one of the most advanced air defense systems in the world, can be used to defuse aircraft, ballistic missiles and cruise missiles. The Netherlands and the United States have also promised Ukraine to provide a Patriot system. The Dutch contribution includes two launchers and a number of missiles, the defense ministry announced in January.
