Critical meeting between Saudi Arabia and Syria

In a written statement from the Saudi Foreign Ministry, it was claimed that Bin Ferhan met Assad as part of his visit to the Syrian capital Damascus.

During the meeting, it was reported that “efforts to find a political solution to the crisis in Syria in order to preserve the territorial integrity, Arab identity, confidence and stability of Syria” were discussed.

It was indicated that in the meeting with Bin Ferhan Assad the steps of a comprehensive political solution that would end all the repercussions of the Syrian crisis were discussed.

In the statement, it was noted that with such a comprehensive political solution, it was aimed at “providing the country’s national interests, returning Syria to the Arab axis and recovering its natural role in the Arab region.”

It was also claimed that Bin Ferhan drew attention to the importance of delivering humanitarian aid to all regions of Syria and providing the necessary conditions for the return of Syrian refugees to their countries.

Bin Ferhan made his first visit to Damascus from Saudi Arabia at the Foreign Ministry level since 2011, when the uprisings in Syria began.

Diplomatic relations between Saudi Arabia and Syria broke down after 2011, when the uprisings in Syria began.

Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Mikdad also paid his first visit to Saudi Arabia on April 12.
