Shock over British Prime Minister Sunak’s inquiry
In the statement made on the official website of the British parliament, it was indicated that the Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards, Daniel Greenberg, who is in charge of monitoring public complaints about the administration, launched an investigation into Sunak’s income statement.
The statement said an investigation was opened on April 13 under Article 6, which requires members of parliament to report all their income “clearly and openly,” while no further details were provided.
THERE WERE CLAIMS ABOUT HIS WIFE
There were allegations in the British press that Sunak failed to declare income for the Koru Kids childcare company, in which his wife Akshata Murty is a partner.
In the statement made by the British Prime Minister’s Office, it was noted that Sunak’s income statement was made during the ministry and that it would assist in conducting the investigation.
Earlier, UK Chancellor of Finance Jeremy Hunt announced the launch of a pilot scheme of £600 incentive payments to new entrants to encourage nannies.
In the British press it was pointed out that the company, of which Sunak’s wife is a shareholder, could benefit from this state incentive, and that the issue is expected to be addressed in the field of investigation. (AA)
