According to the British Ministry of Defense statement, the largest military ceremony to be held by the British Army since the last coronation 70 years ago will take place at the coronation ceremony of King Charles III.

More than 60 aircraft will perform a flying show at the ceremony on May 6, which will bring together more than 6,000 British soldiers from land, air and naval forces.

At the time of the King’s coronation, artillery will also be fired from the ships and artillery at all military bases in the country. Around 400 soldiers from 35 Commonwealth countries will also take part in the parade.

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, whose assessments were included in the statement, said the parade to be held by the British army and its allies will amaze the world.

Admiral Tony Radakin, the UK’s Chief of Staff, also said in his statement that the participation of the armed forces in the coronation ceremony was an indication of the army’s desire to serve the King and its country.

Noting that the parade is the continuation of a centuries-old tradition, Radakin stressed that the military is also an important element of modern Britain.

In the statement, information was also shared on the details of the parade, ball shooting and flight show.

According to it, 200 soldiers will accompany the King and his entourage in the first parade, which will start from Buckingham Palace and end at Westminster Cathedral. There will be 1,000 soldiers on the parade route.

After the king’s coronation, the second parade, which will start from the cathedral and end at the palace, will be attended by 4,000 soldiers and 20 different bands. The flight show will take place on The Mall Street in front of Buckingham Palace and will last 6 minutes.

Viewed from the palace balcony by the King and royal family, the show will feature historic Spitfire aircraft, modern helicopters and planes, and the Air Force aerobatic team.

In addition to London, the capital of England, at the moment of the coronation, artillery will be fired in Cardiff, Edinburgh and Belfast, the capitals of Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland that make up the United Kingdom.

About 400 soldiers will fire 21 cannons from 13 points in the country and on military ships.
