Conflicts and rising death toll in Sudan: You will die like a dog

It has been announced that the death toll has risen in clashes between the army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (HDK) in Sudan.

In Sudan, clashes broke out yesterday between the army and the Rapid Support Forces paramilitary force. In the statement issued today, it was indicated that at least 56 civilians lost their lives in the clashes.

Eyewitnesses speaking to Britain’s Reuters news agency said clashes intensified in the city of Omdurman, near Khartoum. Gunshots were reportedly heard in the Red Sea city of Port Sudan, where there was no conflict before, while noises of clashes were heard in the vicinity of Khartoum, in Omdurman and in the cities of Bahri.

Sudanese chief of staff Abdul Fattah Al-Burhan spoke to Qatar-based Al-Jazeera TV and said the HDK should stand down.

General Muhammed Hamdan Dagalo, the leader of the HDK and known as Hemedti, called Burhan an “outlaw” and a “liar” and said: “We know where he is hiding, we will get him out of there and we will bring him back.” to justice, or you will die like a dog”.

A CONFLICT ARISED between the Army and the HDK

Yesterday morning there were armed confrontations between the Sudanese army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (HDK) in the capital of Sudan, Khartoum and its various cities.

The “verbal fight” between the army and the HDK over military security reform in recent months had turned into a hot conflict between the two powers.

In the transition period after the 2021 military coup, the army and the HDK divided into poles of political power, but no agreement could be reached between the parties. (AGENCIES)
