Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu stated that the Pacific Fleet was put into a state of high war readiness within the scope of the inspection.
Shoigu, at a meeting with military authorities in the capital Moscow, said that inspections were carried out in the army at the instruction of President Vladimir Putin. Stating that this was done for the purpose of detecting and improving the readiness of military forces, Shoigu said: “Today at 9 o’clock (Vladivostok time), the Pacific Fleet was activated and began to enter the state of high preparation for war. .”
