EU adds Wagner Group to sanctions list
In the European Council statement, it was reported that the Wagner Group and RIA FAN were added to the list of sanctions, considering that they threaten the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine.
Recalling that the EU decided to impose sanctions on 11 people and 7 organizations affiliated with the Wagner Group on February 25, the statement said that the Wagner Group, funded by Yevgeniy Prigojin, actively participated in the Russian attacks on Ukraine and the attacks in Soledar. and Bahmut, is said to lead.
In the statement, it was indicated that RIA FAN, of which the Russian businessman Progojin is president of the Board, is a news agency that makes pro-government propaganda and disinformation.
With the latest decision of the European Council, the number of people on the list of sanctions imposed by the EU on Russia due to Ukraine was 1,473, and the number of organizations was 207.
