Dairy fire: 18 thousand cows perished
According to US media reports, an explosion occurred at the Southfork Dairy Farm in the town of Dimmit on April 11 at around 7:30 p.m. local time.
A worker who was trapped at the dairy in the fire that broke out after the explosion was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

It was announced that one person was seriously injured in the fire that broke out after the explosion.
Authorities said the cause of the explosion has not yet been determined.
While 18,000 cows perished in the fire that broke out after the explosion at the dairy, in a video shared on social networks it was seen that dense smoke rose from the dairy into the sky.
Dimmitt Mayor Roger Malone said, “I don’t think such an event has happened here before, it’s a tragedy.”
The Animal Welfare Institute (AWI), which advocates for animal rights in the US, stated that the incident at Southfork Dairy Farm was the largest cow death in the country.
The AWI noted that nearly 400 cows perished in a dairy fire in New York, most recently in 2020. (AA)
