Fine for tourists from the tourist paradise: they will pay 5800 TL
The tourist intensity that is experienced in Italy on the occasion of Holy Week caused great chaos in many vacation centers.
In Portofino, the choice of the famous and the rich, the municipality has implemented some measures due to the boom in tourism. Accordingly, a fine of 275 euros (5800 TL) will be imposed on tourists who stay for a long time in tourist destinations.
In Portofino, two “red zones” will be created at points where tourists frequently organize tours and take selfies. The mayor of Portofino, Matteo Viacava, stated that these measures are vital to avoid lawlessness in the region and that the tourist density has become dangerous.
The plan, which will be implemented at certain times until October 15, aims to organize the circulation of foreign tourists in Portofino, where wealthy tourists flock. Viacava stated that his goal is not to prevent tourism but to ensure that everyone can see the beauties of the region.
It is estimated that the number of foreign tourists arriving in Italy during the Easter period is 1.7 million.
