The ‘beheadings’ crisis between Russia and Ukraine

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has reacted to allegations that Russian soldiers lopped off the head of a captive Ukrainian soldier.

In a video statement made on his social media account, Zelenskiy claimed that no one in the world should “ignore how easily the Russians killed people” and said: “The whole world should see the image of the Ukrainian prisoner being killed.” . Stating that the picture shows Russia as it is, Zelenskiy said: “There are no people for the invaders, they don’t care about sons, brothers and children.”

Stating that Russia is “trying to make the habit of destroying life the new norm,” Zelenskiy noted:

“This is not an accident, this is not an episode. It had happened before. That was what happened in Buça. a thousand times. Everyone, all leaders must react. You should not wait for time to pass and forget. We will not forget anything, we will not forgive the murderers. There will be legal liability for everything. The terrorist must lose.”

Commenting that the world would not understand if leaders did not react to such persecution, Zelenskiy said: “We must act now. In Ukraine, we must concentrate on the front as much as possible, help as much as possible, drive the invaders out of our lands.

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) announced that it has launched an investigation into the alleged execution.

EXPLANATION OF THE KREMLIN

Kremlin spokesman Dmitriy Peskov said: “It is necessary to examine whether this terrible image is true, where and by whom. Of course, this is a terrifying sight. First of all, in a world full of fake news that we live in, it is necessary to check if this image is real or not. (AA)
