Concern for the German Army
The Bild newspaper reported on the 14-page report sent by the Commander of the German Ground Forces, Lieutenant General Alfos Mais, to the Chief of the General Staff.
In the report, it was noted that Germany would not be able to fulfill its promised responsibilities in NATO by 2025 due to a lack of personnel and equipment.
In the report, which included Mais’s statement, “Despite all efforts, the army will only be able to create limited operational readiness in 2025,” it was noted that the army would not be fully equipped with the desired systems by 2025, even if the stocks of the entire army were consulted.
The report noted that personnel and materials would be depleted if no action was taken, thus calling for a continued increase in the defense budget. (AA)
