Iranian delegation travels to Saudi Arabia

According to Iran’s official IRNA news agency, Ali Reza Enayeti, Director General of the Persian Gulf Foreign Ministry, said in a statement on the opening of the Iranian embassy and consulate that preliminary consultations with Saudi Arabia were held.

Noting that the Iranian delegation has reached the final stage of its work at the Foreign Ministry, Enayeti said: “All the administrative work has been completed. The delegation is expected to leave for Saudi Arabia at the end of the week.” he made the statement.

Enayeti noted that two separate Iranian delegations were assigned to make preparations for the reopening of the embassy in Riyadh and the consulate in Jeddah and to take the necessary measures.

Noting that the technical delegations need to meet with each other for the air transport agreement signed between the two parties to come into force, Enayeti said, “Based on this, it has been decided to restart round-trip flights between Iran and Saudi Arabia. “

IRAN AND SAUDI ARABIA HAVE DECIDED TO OPEN EMBASSIES

Iranian Foreign Minister Hussein Emir Abdullahiyan and Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Ferhan met in Beijing on April 6 and agreed to reopen the embassies of the two countries, resume flights between the two countries, and facilitate visas.

In the joint statement issued after the first official meeting at the level of foreign ministers between Tehran and Riyadh after 7 years, it was stated that the two countries agreed to expand their cooperation in all fields.

In the joint communiqué signed by both countries, it was agreed to make the necessary preparations for the reopening of the embassies in Tehran and Riyadh and the consulates in Mashhad and Jeddah within the two-month period (until May) stipulated in the agreement reached mediated by Chinese in March.

The Saudi Arabian technical delegation headed by Nasser bin Avad Al Ganum met officials from the Iranian Foreign Ministry in the capital Tehran yesterday.

In the meeting, which was the continuation of the meeting, where the foreign ministers of the two countries reached an agreement on April 6, the “implementation of the joint tripartite agreement between Saudi Arabia, Iran and China” was discussed. (AA)
