Palestine: Israel will turn Masjid al-Aqsa into a war zone
Palestinian presidential spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeyne warned of Israel’s violations against the Al-Aqsa Mosque in a statement published on the official Palestinian news agency WAFA.
Abu Rudeyna said: “Israel’s provocation against Masjid al-Aqsa is unacceptable. It will turn the courtyard of the mosque into a battlefield, which will seriously worsen the situation.” he used his statements.
Stating that Israel carries out attacks on holy places and worshipers every day during the month of Ramadan, Abu Rudeyne stressed that such actions “drag the region into the abyss.”
WHAT HAPPENED?
The disproportionate use of force by Israeli police, using sound bombs, rubber-coated bullets and batons, against Muslims at the Al-Aqsa Mosque for two days in a row, escalated tension in occupied East Jerusalem and sparked events.
The tension that began in the region on April 4 with the Israeli incursion into Masjid al-Aqsa, further escalated with the Israeli attacks in Gaza and Lebanon in the early evening hours of Friday April 7. In response, rockets were fired from Gaza in the direction of Israel. (AA)
