Tensions rise in Jerusalem: Raid by far-right Jews

As the Israeli police protected the Jewish settlers during the raid, they began to fan out around the Qibla Masjid, not allowing the Palestinians inside to come out.

Police began herding Jewish settlers to Masjid al-Aqsa under heavy security.
Israeli police intervened and did not allow Palestinian youths trying to reach Masjid al-Aqsa for morning prayers today. Palestinian youths, who were not allowed to enter, held morning prayers around Masjid al-Aqsa.

The disproportionate use of force by the Israeli police against Muslims at Masjid al-Aqsa with sound bombs, rubber-coated bullets and batons for two nights in a row heightened tension in occupied East Jerusalem and heightened tension in the West Bank.

CALL FOR RAID IN MESJID-I AKSA

During the Festival of Passover (Passover) from April 5 to 13, fanatical Jews increased their calls for raids on Aqsa.

The Palestinians, expecting a raid during the Passover holiday, called on Muslims for itikaf at Masjid al-Aqsa during Ramadan.

Fifteen fanatical Jewish rabbis also wrote letters to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir.

In the letter, the rabbis, who called on Netanyahu and Ben-Gvir to allow Jewish settlers to sacrifice at Masjid al-Aqsa on Pesach, offered a reward of $5,500 to those who managed to sacrifice. (AA)
