Scandal in Scotland: Ex-Prime Minister’s Wife Arrested
Scottish police arrested Peter Murrell, wife of Nicola Sturgeon, who ousted the prime minister’s seat on March 28.
Murrell, 58, was arrested as part of the budget inquiry into the Scottish Independence Party’s budget. While Murrell’s name was withheld at the start of the investigation, the BBC announced that the person arrested today is Sturgeon’s wife.

It was announced that Sturgeon’s wife was arrested this morning.
Murrell, who resigned from the party leadership last month, was arrested this morning. Murrell was said to have been detained as a “suspect” while authorities raided some addresses and conducted investigations. It was stated that searches continue at the couple’s Glasgow home and that “the suspect is in custody and is being questioned by Scottish detectives.”
Authorities took action after more than 600,000 pounds of donations were not included in the records. Political party officials announced that it would not be appropriate to make a statement while the investigation continues. The Scottish government, on the other hand, stated that this was a case for the party.
