Bus drivers attack minister in Argentina

In the La Matanza region of the Buenos Aires capital, dozens of drivers who gathered because of their companions who lost their lives in the armed attack, closed the road to traffic.

Minister Berni, who went out on the road to speak to the protesters, was attacked with punches and stones by angry drivers.

At the demonstration, the bus drivers punched the minister.

Berni, who was beaten by many people and had a bloody nose, was barely led out of the crowd by a small number of policemen.

The bus drivers, who closed the road and started a strike, announced that they will not give up the action, otherwise they will increase security measures.

Berni, for his part, stated that he understood the anger of the drivers in his statement about the attack and used the phrase “I am here to confront.”

WHAT HAPPENED?

The prosecutor’s office, which launched an investigation into the incident, reported that a person believed to be connected to the murder was detained.

Bus drivers transporting passengers between urban areas and the cities of Buenos Aires are reportedly frequently attacked by gangs.

The bus driver named Daniel Barrientos died in La Matanza from a gunshot wound to the chest. (AA)
