Surprise visit of Egypt in economic crisis to Saudi Arabia
According to news from Saudi Arabia’s official news agency SPA, bin Salman and es-Sisi, who met at sahur in Jeddah, discussed strengthening cooperation and developing it in various fields.
During the meeting, regional and international developments, steps taken regarding these developments and issues of common importance were discussed.
Saudi Arabia’s Undersecretary for National Security Musaid bin Mohammed al-Ayban and Minister of State Isam bin Saad bin Said and the head of Egypt’s Egyptian Intelligence Agency Abbas Kamil also attended the meeting.
Egyptian President Sisi traveled to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia to meet with bin Salman for a few hours.
In the news made in light of information received from sources close to the Presidency in the local Egyptian press, it was noted that during the meeting political and economic issues of interest to the two countries were discussed, as well as issues related to the expansion of the investment framework, will be discussed.
SPA stated that after the bilateral meeting in Jeddah, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah es-Sisi left the country.

On the other hand, the British news agency Reuters reported that the background to Sisi’s visit to Saudi Arabia was to receive financial support from the Riyadh administration. Oil-rich Saudi Arabia, which has been supporting Egypt for many years, has recently signaled that it will not support Egypt, and the two countries have clashed.
