Pope Francis discharged from hospital
Pope, who was taken to the Gemelli Hospital in Rome on March 29 with a complaint of difficulty breathing, left the hospital today after three days of treatment. The Pope stopped his car outside the hospital and spoke with the people who were waiting for him and the journalists.
Thanking the journalists who waited for him while he was in the hospital, the Pope replied: “I am still alive.” he gave the answer. In a written statement from the Vatican, the administrative center of the Catholic Church, it is stated that the Pope left the Gemelli Hospital in the morning and went to the Church of Santa Maria Maggiore, where he used to go to pray after his trips to Rome.
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni expressed his satisfaction with the Pope’s discharge in a written statement. Meanwhile, the Italian press wrote that the Pope will be present at the Easter Mass that the Catholic Christian world will celebrate next week, and it will be determined later if he will participate in other Easter rituals.
The Pope, who was taken to the hospital after the general admission session at the Vatican on March 29, was diagnosed with infectious bronchitis following tests carried out here and was treated with antibiotics.
