Bolsonaro’s surprise statement on his return to Brazil
Back in Brazil, former President Jair Bolsonaro stated that he will not lead any opposition, but will share his experience with whoever wishes.
In statements to CNN Brasil, Bolsonaro affirmed that he has 28 years of experience in parliament and said: “I don’t want to change parliamentarians, they are the ones who will give us the north. At the moment, I am an unauthorized politician, I will be next to my rostrum.
Regarding the undeclared jewelry worth $3.2 million that was discovered upon his return from Saudi Arabia, Bolsonaro said: “I will follow the guidance of my lawyers. Delivered jewels, embezzlement? “Oh my God, we lost them, we searched them, a private secretary listed them, the jewelry is not mine, period,” he said.
Noting that the 2022 election he lost is behind him, Bolsonaro said he has opened a new page and will travel within Brazil once or twice a month.
Criticizing the policies of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva on his Twitter account, Bolsonaro argued that the actions taken during his rule had a serious impact on the public. On the other hand, it was shared that the police took strict security measures around the mansion where Bolsonaro will reside and around the Palace of Congresses.

Bolsonaro was received with great interest by his supporters and militants at the headquarters of the Social Liberal Party (PSL), which he went to shortly after arriving in the country on March 30.
On March 23, the Brazilian government had given former President Bolsonaro five business days to return $3.2 million worth of undeclared jewelry discovered upon his return from his 2021 visit to Saudi Arabia. Bolsonaro argued that there was no irregularity
The jewels, valued at 3.2 million dollars, were found in the backpack of one of Bolsonaro’s crew members at the Sao Paulo Guarulhos airport when he was returning from Saudi Arabia.
Bolsonaro, investigated for “inciting” the raid of Congress in Brazil, left for the United States on December 30, 2022, after losing the elections. (AA)
