Israeli air strike on Damascus
The Syrian government reported that Israel carried out air strikes on some points in the capital, Damascus.
The country’s official news agency SANA, citing military sources, stated that some points around the city center of Damascus at 01:20 were attacked by Israeli forces with airstrikes.
In the news where 2 people were injured as a result of the attack, the expressions “Our air defense systems encountered the enemy missiles and shot down some of them and damage was done.”
There was no explanation from the Israeli authorities about the attack.
In addition to the Syrian army, groups close to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard and Lebanese Hezbollah elements are known to exist in Damascus and its rural areas.
Since the start of the war in 2011, Israel has been carrying out attacks against Iranian-backed groups and Syrian government-owned military points from time to time in Syria. (AA)
