Agenda in the EU: Ukrainian children kidnapped in Russia…
The President of the European Commission, von der Leyen, and President of the European Council, Charles Michel, addressed the General Assembly of the European Parliament (EP) convened in Brussels.
Assessing the results of the EU Leaders Summit held on March 23-24, von der Leyen emphasized the need to increase production capacity for more sustainable support, in addition to joint procurement and plans to provide 1 million of artillery shells for Ukraine.
“We need to expand the production facilities. We need to strengthen supply chains and support the redistribution of existing production facilities. Von der Leyen stated that 16,200 children were deported from Ukraine to Russia, saying: “They have been separated from their families and from their childhood. If we are not involved in this, if we are not active in this issue, they too will lose their future.” saying.
Noting that the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin and Russia’s Commissioner for the Rights of the Child Maria Alekseyevna Lvova-Belova on March 18 as part of their investigation into crimes committed in Ukraine, for the crime of kidnapping Ukrainians.
