Woman arrested in France for insulting Macron
It was reported that in the Saint-Omer region of France, a female representative of the “Yellow Vests” movement was detained for allegedly using the word “scum”, referring to President Emmanuel Macron.
According to the news on the French channel BFMTV, the woman in question was arrested by the police who came to her house on a complaint from the Governor. The day before Macron spoke to French television about his controversial pension reform on March 22, the woman said on Facebook, referring to him: “The bastard will speak to you, the undervalued, tomorrow at 13. We can only watch the scum on TV.”
The woman, who will testify in court on the charge of “insulting the president” on June 20, will face 6 years in prison and a fine of up to 22,500 thousand euros if found guilty of the statements she shared on Facebook.
On the other hand, the woman stated that she wanted to write one more word in her statement, but that she was “favored by the keyboard”. (AA)
