The Netherlands have had an envoy to Ukraine since Friday. Ron van Dartel (70), former ambassador to Moscow, Warsaw and Belgrade, among others, will be introduced at a private meeting of the RVO, the government agency for enterprise of the Netherlands. Various sources confirm this to BNR. This position was created at the request of the House of Representatives.
The House of Representatives wants such an envoy to help Dutch companies rebuild Ukraine. The main topics are the following public-private platforms: water, health, agriculture and food security.
Van Dartel will work closely with the Dutch embassy in Kiev. There he meets Ambassador Jennes de Mol, who worked in Russia at the same time as Van Dartel. Van Dartel served as ambassador to Moscow from 2013 to 2016 and to the Polish capital Warsaw from 2016 to 2019, after which he retired. Before moving to Moscow, he was Permanent Representative to the OSCE in Vienna and served as Dutch Ambassador to Serbia
