Statement from Greece to Turkey: Blood pressure dropped rapidly
Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias said that after the earthquake disaster centered on Kahramanmaraş, Turkey’s policies towards Greece changed a lot.
Speaking to the Proto Thema newspaper, Dendias noted that recent tensions with Turkey suddenly eased after his visit to Turkey after the earthquakes. Expressing that the tension in the Aegean Sea was declining rapidly and Ankara’s harsh statements stopped, Dendias asserted that Greece also had a responsibility to respond to Ankara’s approach.
Stating that they hope Turkey will maintain this peaceful attitude and the atmosphere of peace will continue, the Greek minister added that the decisions made at the meeting with Turkey last week were an important step in the development of relations, adding: “This is a new reality A new window of opportunity has opened in this regard”, he said.
Visiting Hatay after the earthquakes centered on Kahramanmaraş, Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias met with his Turkish counterpart Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu.
