They call for an investigation into the police threatening protesters in Paris
According to French press reports, unauthorized demonstrations against the pension reform were held in Paris on 20 March.
Loopsider, the online broadcaster, published audio recordings of the incident in which a group of French policemen insulted, threatened and slapped 7 protesters during one of the demonstrations on Monday night.
In the audio recordings, a policeman is heard threatening to “hospitalize” a protester and another policeman is heard threatening to deport a Chadian protester from France.
The Paris Police Department requested an administrative investigation into the incident. On the other hand, in the 9th mass demonstration against the pension reform in Paris on March 23, a union activist was seriously injured in one eye.
The SUD-Rail union claimed that the injured protester lost sight in his left eye.
Demonstrations against the reform, which aims to gradually increase the retirement age to 64 years in France, have been taking place for weeks throughout the country.
In recent days there have been serious clashes between security forces and protesters during demonstrations in different cities of the country, especially in Paris, and some have been injured by protesters and police. (AA)
