Anyone with plans for Monday that have anything to do with Germany should put them on hold. Marseille puts it in view of the mammoth strike at the beginning of next week, which will be felt from Sunday evening.
“It is one of the biggest strikes Germany has known in terms of consequences,” the correspondent said. All sectors are participating. The trains don’t work. Ship and air traffic is at a standstill. This may include closing tunnels. The impact will be greater than ever.’
Several unions and sectors are behind the strike. “But in most cases the requirements boil down to the same thing,” says Marseille. ‘The cost increase must be corrected with wages. Some unions are demanding wage increases of 8 to 15%. Some unions have already walked out of a meeting with controversy several times. Now they’ve had enough.’
