Microsoft co-founder Allen’s yacht capsizes: 25 injured
The yacht named “Petrel”, which was in the dry dock of the Imperaiil shipyard in Edinburgh, moved due to strong winds and tilted about 45 degrees.
As a result of the yacht tilting, 25 people on the yacht and in the pool were injured.
5 ambulances, an ambulance helicopter, firefighters and police equipment were transferred to the place.
The yacht was reported to belong to Paul Allen, who co-founded Microsoft with Bill Gates and died in 2018.
In a Scottish police statement, citizens were advised to stay away from the area.
The approximately 75-meter-long yacht was put into dry dock in 2020 due to operational problems and has not been used since.
The ship was used for underwater exploration activities before Allen purchased it. (AA)
