Afghanistan earthquake death toll rises

3 people lost their lives in the 6.5 magnitude earthquake that struck the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan last night.

Sharaft Zaman Amarhil, a spokesman for the Taliban government’s Health Ministry, told reporters that 3 people died in the country’s Tahar and Lagman provinces from the quake. Saying that 44 people were injured across Afghanistan, Amarhil said he was concerned about the rising death toll.

The number of people who lost their lives in Pakistan due to the earthquake increased to 9, more than 160 people were injured. According to Geo News television, the quake was strongly felt in the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, close to the border with Afghanistan.
