They arrest a person who set fire to an old man who was returning from the mosque
According to British press reports, the person who set fire to an elderly man who was returning home from the mosque after 7:00 p.m. local time yesterday in Birmingham, has been arrested on charges of attempted murder.
As the elderly man was walking home from the mosque, a person approached him, spoke to him and then sprayed an unknown substance on him and set his jacket on fire, West Midlands Police said.
The old man, whose jacket caught fire and burned his face, was taken to hospital.
Police examined video shared on social media showing the man being set on fire as part of the investigation.
Police officers also said they were aware of a similar incident that occurred in west London on February 27 and were working with the London Metropolitan Police Service to see if they were linked.
The anti-terror police also launched an investigation into the incident. (AA)
