Syrian opposition statement on the 12th anniversary of the war
The National Coalition of Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces (SMDK) stated that the international community “ignores the crimes committed by the Bashar al-Assad regime and the implementation of international resolutions that provide for a political solution.”
SMDK, the Syrian opposition umbrella organization, issued a written statement on the 12th anniversary of the popular uprising in Syria.
“The international community ignores the crimes of the Assad regime and the international resolutions that provide for the political transition. On the occasion of the anniversary, we ask brother and friendly countries to examine the history of this regime, which has been committing crimes since 2011.
Emphasizing that SMDK is ready to participate in any political process that meets the expectations of the Syrian people, it was argued that the Assad regime continues to block steps taken for a political solution. (AA)
