Warning to “Syrian organizations” in Austria! Increased measures due to security risk
The Vienna Police Department, on its Twitter account, today issued a security risk warning for the anniversary of the civil war in Syria, after the State Intelligence and Security Unit warned of possible attacks on churches yesterday.
In the statement, it was emphasized that, especially on the anniversary of the civil war, Syrian organizations could be directly attacked and that preventive security measures in this direction were increased.
In the statement, it was indicated that the officials of these organizations were in contact and that security measures would be reduced as the risk of danger disappears.
WARNING OF POSSIBLE ATTACK
Austrian police announced yesterday that security measures have been raised to the highest level at certain points in the capital, as Vienna’s churches face the threat of attack by extremist groups.
The police announcement of the threat to attack churches provoked the reaction of various institutions and organizations that argued that they would be abused by far-right circles.
Immediately afterwards, the police corrected that the expression used was not well understood and that it referred to all religious institutions. (AA)
