Bukele said: “Today we are carrying out a new action and we have sent the second gang group of 2,000 people to the Center Against Terrorism (CECOT). Thus, the number of gang members living in the most criticized prison in the world reaches 4,000”.

Authorities shared that 2,000 more gang members were sent to prison with these poses.

The video shared by Bukele shows the moments in which the gang members were transported to the prison in very short shorts, tattooed bodies and barefoot under intense security measures. The last time 2,000 gang members were taken to the mega jail was on February 26.

The so-called mega-prison was inaugurated on February 2, on a 166-hectare piece of land in a valley in the town of Tecoluca, 74 kilometers from San Salvador.

The “Centro de Conservación del Terror”, which was built to fight gangs and is said to be the largest prison in the Americas, was inaugurated by President Bukele.
