German Army Announced: Warplanes Take Off Against Russia
It has been reported that the German Air Force had to take off 27 times starting in August 2022 to protect Baltic airspace against Russian air forces, as part of their NATO mission.
In a statement to the German News Agency (DPA), the German Air Force spokesman said that German crews of Eurofighter fighter jets detected Russian military aircraft over the Baltic Sea. Noting that Eurofighter fighter jets were warned when an unknown aircraft with no transponder signal or radio connection was found in Baltic airspace, the spokesman shared the information that more than 150 German soldiers have been deployed in Estonia since the summer of 2022 to protect the airspace in this region of the East Wing of NATO.
The spokesman claimed that the German Air Force had to take off 27 times starting in August 2022 to protect Baltic airspace against Russian air forces, as part of their NATO mission.
It was claimed that the German-British co-production aircraft type “Typhoon” conducted patrol flights in international airspace over the Baltic States and the Baltic Sea.
It was noted that German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier will visit the Amari airbase in Estonia on Wednesday to receive briefings on the mission there. (AA)
