Another scare for Bolsonaro: he will be called to testify for the gift

Dino said in a statement that Bolsonaro would be summoned to testify, but did not share information on the date of the statement.

Minister Dino said: “The former president will be summoned to testify. If he does not come, a new situation may develop in which international cooperation mechanisms may come into play.

Noting that investigations into the undeclared jewelry are continuing, Dino said: “There are other people and witnesses who are being heard. “The investigation can be completed without listening to him, but I hope he will come and give his statement,” he said.

The jewels, valued at 3.2 million dollars, were found in the backpack of one of Bolsonaro’s crew members at the Sao Paulo Guarulhos airport upon his return from his visit to Saudi Arabia.
