The longest bridge in Iraq could not withstand the rains
Kasim Hamza, Director of the Kirkuk Department of Roads and Bridges, made a statement to the AA correspondent on the matter.
Hamza stated that a part of the Dakuk Bridge, which connects the Kirkuk-Baghdad highway in the south of the city of Kirkuk, collapsed due to flooding that occurred as a result of heavy rains.

Stating that there are many bridges on the route in question, Hamza noted that the Dakuk Bridge, which is located in Dakuk district and is the longest bridge in the country with a length of one kilometer, is very important.
Reporting that the two-way bridge was built on 23 legs, Hamza said that the water level has risen due to the heavy rains that have been felt for the past two days, and as a result, the bottom of the 5 legs of the bridge The first part of the bridge was destroyed.
Hamza claimed that the collapse occurred as a result of the destruction and the passage of vehicles carrying heavy loads over the bridge was stopped. (AA)
