1,400 earthquake victims benefited from Germany’s expedited visa program
After the great earthquake disaster that struck Turkey, Germany, which started the “quick and easy visa” procedures, brought 1400 Turks from the earthquake zone to their relatives in Germany. Visas are issued within 5 days.
1,100 of the arrivals received “fast track” visas to stay with their families for 90 days. The rest came “through family reunification.” That is to say, the requests made before by reason of marriage or custody relationship were also accepted quickly.
WHO CAN COME?
In order for earthquake victims to come to Germany on a 90-day visa, they must be invited by their first or second degree relatives in Germany. The guests guarantee that they will cover the expenses of the people who will come.
In a first phase, this invitation business was accelerated. Second, earthquake survivors needed to be able to quickly recover documents lost in the disaster. This was accelerated by Ankara.
THE NUMBER IS INCREASING EVERY DAY
When the number of staff for expedited visa processing was increased, applications could be completed in 5 days.
Similarly, the victims of the earthquake are taken out of Syria. More earthquake victims are expected to arrive on expedited visas in the coming weeks.
Switzerland, Belgium and the Netherlands submit a similar request. Britain’s slowdown draws much criticism.
