Zelensky’s statement on the course of the war
In his daily evening address to the nation, Ukraine’s President Zelenskiy announced that 1,100 Russian soldiers have been killed and 1,500 wounded since March 6 in the city of Bahmut, where fighting continues.
Zelenskiy also stated that dozens of Russian equipment were destroyed and more than 10 Russian ammunition depots were destroyed.
Zelenskiy also gave information on the state of power outages in the country, noting that as of yesterday the technical capacities of the electricity supply were restored. Zelensky said: “There is electricity in Kharkiv. There is electricity in the Jitomir area. All cities and communities that had problems with the power supply were reactivated. A special thanks to everyone who worked on this. “I would like to express my gratitude to our power engineers for this week, to all repair crews, local and central authorities involved in eliminating the consequences of Thursday’s Russian terrorist attack.”
ENERGY SAVINGS UP TO 600 MEGAVATS
On the other hand, Zelenskiy emphasized that the program of replacing old lamps with new LED lamps is being actively implemented in Ukraine, saying: “Ukrainians have already received 12 million LED lamps in total. Speaking of energy savings, this volume allows us to save up to 600 megawatts of energy. This is roughly equivalent to more than half the output of the most powerful nuclear power plant unit. Take advantage of this lamp exchange program.”
